Set high above Melbourne’s Docklands, this contemporary apartment pairs considered interior design with expansive views across the CBD skyline and surrounding waterfront.
The apartment itself has been custom designed throughout, creating a refined architectural foundation for the furniture and styling. Rather than competing with the space, each piece was selected to complement its clean lines, material palette and sense of openness. The elevated position also plays an important role in the interior, with natural light and panoramic city views forming a backdrop to the living and dining areas throughout the day.
At the centre of the main living space, the Salamanca sofa creates a generous and inviting setting, accompanied by Santiago coffee tables and a pair of Bolzano swivel chairs. The arrangement keeps the space open and connected to the surrounding outlook while introducing softer forms and comfortable places to sit, relax and take in the view.
Two separate dining areas were created to suit different ways of using the apartment. A smaller, more casual dining setting features the round Santiago dining table, while the dedicated dining room is anchored by the larger Ottawa dining table, providing a more substantial setting for entertaining and longer gatherings.
The result is a cohesive contemporary interior where the furniture feels naturally integrated into the architecture. Carefully proportioned pieces, sculptural forms and understated finishes complement the apartment without overwhelming it, allowing the design, city skyline and waterfront views to remain central to the space.
